What Miss Scarlet Season 5 is About
In the new season, Eliza’s agency is thriving and her professional life is on a successful path. On the personal side, however, Duke has now been away in New York for several months and Eliza is forced to make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, a new Detective Inspector comes to Scotland Yard and Eliza must navigate building a relationship with him if she’s going to continue having access to police resources. All these changes and decisions beg the question: Can Eliza Scarlet have it all?

Changes for Season 5
Starting with Season 5, the show title is now simply Miss Scarlet, rather than Miss Scarlet and The Duke.
Stuart Martin, who played William “The Duke” Wellington in the previous four seasons will not return for Season 5.
When the news of his departure was first announced in February 2024, Martin noted, “It has been such an incredible joy to bring Duke to life through Rachael’s beautiful, brilliant writing, and to get to play him for the past four years. But it felt like the time was right for Scarlet to explore new stories and challenges for now, as the show continues to grow and evolve. I will miss working with my amazing partner in crime Kate and the rest of our brilliant family and team, but I’m excited to continue following Eliza and her escapades as a huge fan and newly enrolled Scarleteer!”

Meet the New Detective Inspector
We can tell you all about Detective Inspector Alexander Blake, (played by Tom Durant Pritchard), a handsome former soldier and respected Detective Inspector who joins the force at Scotland Yard to replace the departed William “The Duke” Wellington. But truly, who’s better to introduce the newcomer than the leading lady of the series herself, Kate Phillips? Go behind the scenes with Phillips and meet her newest costar in this video!
What’s ahead for the DI and the PI? While Blake isn’t particularly shocked by a woman working as a private eye, their relationship gets off to a rocky start since Blake has decided not to allow private detectives to aid in his investigations.
As Blake and Miss Scarlet cross paths at various crime scenes across London, they can’t help but develop mutual respect for one another…and perhaps even an attraction.
